THE PURPOSE

CEO Garrett Underwood Journey to Becoming a Christian The truth is, from 19 years of age until I hit the age of 25 I never really understood who Christ was…. I was simply seeking. At the age of 19 I was tired of living for nothing; I wanted a true change in my life. During this period of transition, I was facing my first real break up. I put all of my time and energy into this individual. She was my first everything – first “love”, first sexual experience, first heart break. While I was with her, I knew that the journey I was putting myself through wasn’t a positive one. I remember, with the little faith I had at the time, fleeing to God when I needed help. I prayed to God to get me out of the situation I was in, because I was too much of a slave to get myself out. A week later God answered my prayer and we broke up (a trend she and I had – breaking up only to get back together) God knowingly did something that shook my life for the better.

One day, as I was driving back from a friend’s house, she called telling me she was pregnant. My life flashed before my eyes. I remember praying that night, pleading to God that no matter what happens in this situation I would promise to dedicate my life to Him. To make a long story short, she miscarried. After that situation, I acknowledged that I had a promise I had to live up to with God. That following Sunday, I prayed God into my heart; accepting him as my Lord and Saver. I had walked out of Church that day thinking I was fully saved and that my life had been changed forever. As a 19 year old going on 20, life had never really changed around me and I didn’t truly understand the idea of giving my life to God according to the bible. So as any animal in the wild, I re-adapted to my environment and fell right back into the sin that made me a slave to this world. Not only was I messing around with different women, but I wasn’t even being true to the one God delivered me from. The worst part about everything was that I was still calling myself a Christian. During the day I walked, talked, and looked like a Christian, but behind closed doors I was a completely different person. I was living a double life without any shame. I was so deep into my sin, that I rationalized my way of thinking and made myself believe it was okay to do the things I did. Even as I read the scriptures, I began to bible pick. I picked what I thought was worthwhile to follow and ignored what I felt were insignificant scriptures. I was living the way I wanted to live, not the way God wanted me to live. I was a complete hypocrite. I had one foot in the door and one foot out, Lukewarm as could be! (Revelation 3:16) I started a brand that only represented God from the outside, not the inside. From the outside I looked great, but from the inside I was lost.

One day, I was approached at a friend’s birthday party and was asked to study the bible. At first I was hesitant, but my pride in being a fake Christian took over and I said, “Yeah why not” (thinking I knew everything). As we studied the bible, it became very real to me. I finally understood what it meant to dedicate my life to God. Scriptures that I never knew were in the bible were shown to me. My heart was convicted from my past and I radically wanted to change my life.

On June 18th 2012, I was baptized! God spiritually transformed my heart on the inside to match my outwardly appearance. I truly learned what it meant to really be a Christian according to the bible and not the world – to fully repent of my worldly ways and realized that the life of a disciple is what a true Christian is. Living by the bible is not only a command; it is a requirement to be living as a true Christian. (Luke9:23)

It is extremely difficult to write about this because I am discussing my deepest feelings about my past. Yet, I think it is more important to share with you my journey to becoming a real Christian.  I believe our struggles are powerful tools that can help others. If you are striving and saying you are a Christian, make sure your word lines up with your actions. Our actions are where our heart lies. Don’t let Christian Clothing be a trend, let it be a standard of living and an accountability to you and the world.

How It Works?
Our Approach: When you purchase an item at Malachi Clothing, you are essentially providing the materials that are needed to prosper and encourage a new LIFE. Each customer will receive a bracelet(s) a few weeks later with the name of the individual receiving the needed materi- als written upon it. Packaged along with the bracelet will be a strip of paper with a specific prayer topic that was requested by the individual in need. We believe in the power of prayer and ask that you fulfill the requested prayer daily as well as pray for others in need.

Step 1: Spread The Gospel Through Appeal.
Malachi Clothing is a company that believes in creating a physical, spiritual identity through fashion for the community of believers. We provide a brand that identifies God, essentially creating a uniform of God that speaks to everyone. We strive to create fashionable, distinctive, and quality driven apparel that inspires the consumer to feel empowered when wearing it. Our objective is to create art with a unique design, while fostering individual expression. By projecting a positive awareness through fashion, we bring God’s image to life.

“God created man in his image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.”‐ Genesis Ch.1:27

Step 2: Identify the needs of the people.
We target the areas in which change is necessary, areas such as homeless communities with individuals in desperate need of a second chance at life. In order to make an impact, we must provide these individuals with the necessary amenities to help them get their life back on track. We will be providing food to keep their body energized throughout the day, clean clothes to keep their current clothes from building up bacteria and microscopic bugs that live within the cotton, a toothbrush and toothpaste to prevent dental issues, and deodorant and soap to keep their skin from developing deadly skin infections. Our ultimate goal is to provide a second opportunity for these individuals and give them hope and the confidence to strive for a better life.

Step 3: Help us make a bigger impact.
With every purchase at Malachi Clothing, a care package will be assembled and donated to a person in need. Each care package will include: soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant. As we handout food and a care package to the individuals, we ask them whether they would like to request a prayer by made in their name.

Step 4: Pray
After a customer has made a purchase, they will receive a bracelet and a prayer request in the mail a few weeks later.
Each bracelet is personalized with the name of the individual the customer personally helped by purchasing a product at Malachi Clothing. Packaged along with the bracelet will be a strip of paper with a specific prayer topic that was requested by the individual in need. We ask that you fulfill this prayer request daily, and use the bracelet as a reminder to not just pray for that individual, but for everyone in need.
